CBOE Futures Exchange's Year-To-Date Volume Is 50% Ahead Of Last Year - Average Daily Volume Is Exceeding 2007's Record Pace, July 2008 Volume Down 24% Compared To Year-Ago
The CBOE Futures Exchange, LLC (CFE) today announced that 2008 year-to-date trading volume is 50% ahead of the same period from a year-ago.Through the end of July, total trading volume at CFE stands at 701,454 contracts traded, compared to 468,317 contracts traded through July 2007, which was a record year at CFE.Year-to-date, average daily volume through the end of July stands at 4,772 contracts, compared to the 3,191 contracts from 2007.

Kansas City Board Of Trade Wheat Volume Third Largest In July
The Kansas City Board of Trade trading volume for the month of July amounted to 300,025 contracts in the hard red winter wheat futures contract, which is the third-largest trading volume for the month of July, behind 407,032 contracts in 2007 and 377,494 contracts if 2006.

Deutsche Börse: Xetra Trades Up By 21 Percent In July - Total Volume Of €218 Billion Traded On All Stock Exchanges In Germany
In July 2008, the number of trades executed on Xetra reached more than 19 million transactions – up 21 percent compared to July 2007 with 16.1 million trades. Order book turnover on Xetra recorded €193.2 billion (July 2007: €222.3 billion), down by 13 percent. On Xetra and the Frankfurt floor €188.7 billion were turned over in German equities and €9.2 billion in foreign shares. Eurex: Trading Volumes Of 180 Million Contracts In July - Growth Of 11 Percent Y-O-Y - Average Daily Volume At 7.8 Million Contracts
Trading volume at the international derivatives exchange Eurex reached 179.5 million contracts, a rise of 11 percent year on year (July 2007: 162.4 million). The average daily trading volume was 7.8 million compared with 7.4 million the same month a year ago. Driver of growth was especially the segment equity index derivatives. The first seven months of this year saw a volume of more than 1.32 billion contracts, an increase of 17 percent over the same period last year (1.13 billion contracts).

Borsa Italiana - In July 2008, The ETFplus Market Has Achieved The Highest Average Daily Turnover
In July 2008 the ETFplus market has reached the highest average daily turnover equal to Euro 236.3 million Euros (229.4 for the ETFs and 6.9 for the ETCs) overcoming the previous record achieved in March 2008 (199.4 million Euros). In addition, on July 23rd 2008, the ETFplus market set a new trading record in a single section with 582.1 million Euros of turnover. The previous record was 403 million Euros, set on January 21st 2008.

SEC Action Halts Tire Recycling Scam
The Securities and Exchange Commission has obtained emergency relief to stop an allegedly fraudulent scheme that raised over $7.2 million from investors who were told the money would be used in a business shredding and recycling used tires. However, as alleged in the SEC's complaint, the tire shredding equipment did not work, there was no reasonable basis for Merklinger's income and return figures, and the investors never received a dime from their investment.
