European Climate Exchange Monthly Report & Exchange Monthly Volume - July 2008
July Highlights: ECX July volumes reached a total of 346 Mt, exceeding the previous monthly record in June (295 Mt). July 2008 volume represents almost a three-fold increase over the same month last year. Average daily volumes for the month of July in EUA and CER futures and options rose to 15 Mt (15,056 lots) from 14 Mt (14,408 lots) at the end of June. Volumes on Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange (DGCX) reached an all time high in July of 186,842 contracts, valued in excess of US$12 billion, an increase of 227% over July 2007.

DIFC Clarifies Its Position Regarding 'Rashed Investment Bank'
DIFC today clarified its position on news reports that have recently appeared regarding 'Rashed Investment Bank' an Islamic investment bank proposed to be set up in Dubai. While DIFC welcomes initiatives within the Islamic Finance industry, DIFC clarifies that it is not a member of the founding consortium of 'Rashed Investment Bank' and does not have a financial stake in the venture.

Tokyo Financial Exchange: Trading Volume In July 2008
In July 2008, the trading volume of Three-month Euroyen futures was 1,654,329, decreasing 42.8% in comparison to that of the prior year comparable month, and decreasing 33.2% in comparison to that of the prior month, and the average daily volume was 75,197. CBOE Records Busiest Month Ever - 126.2 Million Contracts Average Daily Volume - 5.7 Million Contracts
The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) today announced that July was its most active month ever as a total of 126.2 million contracts traded, with an average daily trading volume of 5.7 million contracts. July's volume beat the previous monthly record set in January 2008 when 110.8 million contracts changed hands at CBOE, averaging 5.3 million contracts per day.July volume also was 45 percent greater than July 2007 volume of 87.2 million contracts.
