FIO o.c.p., a.s. from Bratislava started operations on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, including trading in all financial instruments on own account and on client’s account as of 1 August 2008.
FIO o.c.p., a.s. is a member of the FIO Financial Group. FIO’s core business is to trade on foreign stock and derivative markets. The broker provides intermediary services in trading in financial instruments to small and medium-sized institutional investors and to individual investors.
The start of operations of yet another remote exchange member proves that the WSE is attractive to foreign investors as a source of investments and profits.
At the same time, the growing number of foreign exchange members strengthens the WSE’s position as the leading market in this part of Europe and fits into the strategy of creating a regional financial centre in Warsaw.
Remote membership gives foreign brokers direct access to the WSE system without physical presence in Poland.
The WSE now has 47 exchange members, including 19 remote members from Hungary, the Czech Republic, Austria, the UK, France, Germany, Sweden, Slovakia, and Estonia.
