SEC Charges Bogus PIPE Promoters In $52 Million Ponzi Scheme
The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged an Irvine, Calif., attorney and two other promoters for conducting a $52.7 million Ponzi scheme in which they sold investors bogus PIPE (private investment in public equity) investments, promised unrealistic profits, and misappropriated more than $20 million of investors' funds to function as their own personal piggy bank.

Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index
Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Monday, September 15, 2008: The shares of Tanganyika Oil Company Ltd. (TSXVN:TYK) will be removed from the index. The company will graduate to TSX and will trade under the same ticker symbol.

In August, the total number of trades in BM&FBOVESPA’s variable and fixed income markets reached 4.5 million, with a financial volume of BRL101.04 billion. The Company’s derivatives markets (both financial and agricultural) ended the month of August with a total trading volume of 28.77 million contracts, and a notional financial volume of US$1.18 trillion.
