The Government has been reliably informed that the US Securities Exchange Commission has today Friday June 19 2009 filed in the Northern District Court of Texas a Motion for Leave to file an Amended Complaint in its pending civil suit against Stanford International Bank Limited (SIB), Stanford Group Company, and R Allen Stanford among others. The civil suit was filed by the SEC in February 2009.

Operational issues Technical modalities of the purchase programme for covered bonds On 4 June 2009 the Governing Council decided upon the technical modalities of the purchase programme of euro-denominated covered bonds which it had approved in principle at its 7 May 2009 meeting. United States, Switzerland Agree To Increased Tax Information Exchange
As part of the Obama Administration's aggressive efforts to enforce U.S. tax laws and reduce offshore tax evasion, the U.S. Department of the Treasury today announced the conclusion of negotiations with Switzerland to amend the U.S.-Switzerland income tax treaty to provide for increased tax information exchange. Official signing of the protocol is expected in the next few months.
