Further Trouble Looms For The Euro Warns City Expert
Euro/dollar trades have hit a four year low of 1.2185 as the unexpected ban on naked short selling of certain financial stocks and credit-default swaps enforced by Germany’s financial regulator has added to the lack of confidence surrounding the euro. But Mark O’Sullivan, director of dealing at leading foreign exchange firm Currencies Direct, believes further falls in the value of the euro could be seen over the coming days.

TMX: Introduction Of Mid-Curve Options On BAX Futures

Polish National Depository For Securities: Settlement Guarantor KDPW_CLEARPOOL
The National Depository for Securities (KDPW S.A.) has established the company KDPW_CLEARPOOL which will act as transaction settlement guarantor. It is the first step in the spin-off from KDPW’s organisation of a clearing house according to the globally applied central counterparty model (CCP). The guarantor will be in a position to use its capital to guarantee the settlement of transactions.

Thai Bourse Will Close Its Operations And Will Not Trade On May 20-21
On May 20-21, The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET)'s will not conduct any trading, its Board of Governors decided after evaluating the situation and taking the Bank of Thailand's decision that these two days would be special holidays for financial institutes, SET President Patareeya Benjapolchai revealed.

One Arrested In UK's Financial Services Authority And City of London Police Insider Dealing Investigation
Investigators from the Financial Services Authority’s (FSA) Enforcement and Financial Crime Division acting with the assistance of officers from the City of London Police (CoLP), conducted a search operation at a residential address in East London this morning. The FSA confirmed that a man aged 39 was arrested to facilitate questioning under caution in relation to allegations of insider dealing.
