Trading Volumes On The Spanish Exchange Reached €66.56 Bn In January
The Derivatives Market traded 8.4 million contracts in January, up 48% from the same month last year. UK's AIM In Intensive Care – Any Signs Of Life?
Quarterly analysis of the AIM market by Deloitte, the business advisory firm, has shown that activity on AIM in quarter four of 2008 ‘flat-lined,’ with total new money raised at its lowest level in the last decade, including no new money at all raised in the month of October.

Submission Of Joint Comments From Japan’s Financial Services Agency And CPAAOB On The Draft On “Rule Amendments Concerning The Timing Of Certain Inspections Of Non-U.S. Firms, And Other Issues Relating To Inspections Of Non-U.S. Firms”
On February 2, the Financial Services Agency (FSA) and the Certified Public Accountants and Auditing Oversight Board (CPAAOB) issued a joint comment letter to the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) of the United States regarding its draft on “Rule amendments concerning the timing of certain inspections of non-U.S. firms, and other issues relating to inspections of non-U.S. firms”.

CESR Launches A Call For Evidence On The Technical Standards To Identify And Classify OTC Derivative Instruments For TREM - CESR's Transaction Reporting Exchange Mechanism
According to Article 25(3) of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) , investment firms shall report details of transactions executed in financial instruments admitted to trading on a regulated market to their competent authorities.

HKFE's Mini HSI And Mini HHI Futures Contracts Can Now Be Offered And Sold In US
The Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), has received no-action relief from the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) which enables HKFE Exchange Participants (EPs) to offer and sell the exchange's mini futures contracts based on the Hang Seng Index (HSI) and the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index (HSCEI) in the US.
