Financial Reporting: European Commission Gets Rid Of Accounting Requirements For Micro Enterprises In Major Burden Reduction For The EU's Smallest Companies
The European Commission has put forward a new proposal which would allow Member States to completely abolish financial reporting obligations for the EU's smallest companies. In a deteriorating economic climate, the new rules are designed to alleviate the regulatory burden on micro entities. Guotai Asset Management Signs Exclusive Agreement For NASDAQ-100 Index(r) In China - Guotai Asset Management Will License The NASDAQ-100 Index(r) And Launch An Exchange-Listed Product For Domestic Investors
Guotai Asset Management and The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:NDAQ) announced today that Guotai has executed an exclusive licensing agreement with NASDAQ OMX to use the NASDAQ-100 Index in the development of an exchange traded product in China. The announcement comes as demand for indexed overseas products in China is rapidly developing. Subject to regulatory approval, this NASDAQ-100 Index-linked product will be the first foreign index-linked financial product traded in China.

Until that time, Mr. Warren will continue in his current role. Egyptian Exchange (EGX) Launches EGX 70 Price Index, Renames CASE 30 Index To EGX 30 Index And Computes EGX 30 Index (In US Dollar Terms)
In its continuous efforts to upgrade its services to market participants and help them tracking a larger segment of traded companies in the Egyptian market, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) is launching a new price index; EGX 70 Price Index, on 1st of March 2009, which measures the performance of the 70 active companies, after excluding the 30 most active constituent-companies of EGX 30 Index. The new index will be computed and published throughout the session.

Bolsa De Madrid Investor Ombudsman 2008 Report - Agreements On Ongoing Claims Increase - They Account For Almost A Third Of Complaints Lodged With Ombudsman
"The most significant finding in 2008 was a decrease in the degree of conflict as the trend for reaching agreement on reports gathered pace", stated Carlos Fernández, Bolsa de Madrid Ombudsman during the presentation of his report. Last year the Ombudsman office received 32 claims, one more than in 2007 with agreements representing 28% of the total compared to 16% the previous year.
