Decisions Taken By The Governing Council Of The European Central Bank (In Addition To Decisions Setting Interest Rates)
Operational issues Technical modalities of the purchase programme for covered bonds On 4 June 2009 the Governing Council decided upon the technical modalities of the purchase programme of euro-denominated covered bonds which it had approved in principle at its 7 May 2009 meeting. A press release specifying the modalities of this programme was published on 4 June 2009 on the ECB’s website.

United States, Switzerland Agree To Increased Tax Information Exchange
As part of the Obama Administration's aggressive efforts to enforce U.S. tax laws and reduce offshore tax evasion, the U.S. Department of the Treasury today announced the conclusion of negotiations with Switzerland to amend the U.S.-Switzerland income tax treaty to provide for increased tax information exchange. Official signing of the protocol is expected in the next few months.
