The Dusit Thani Freehold and Leasehold Property Fund will start trading on The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) under the symbol “DTCPF” from January 13, making it the first securities to be listed on the Thai Exchange this year.
DTCPF is worth THB4.09 billion (approx. USD134.19 million), SET Group Head-Issuer and Listing Chanitr Charnchainarong disclosed. Its IPO was held during December 7– 17, 2010, priced at THB10.00 each for 409.4 million investment units. CIMB Securities (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Kim Eng Securities (Thailand) PCL were co-underwriters and Krung Thai Asset Management PCL was its fund manager.
“Getting listed on SET not only helps meet the firm’s financial needs for business expansion, but also provides an investment alternative to investors. The SET will continue to list new companies to both give investors more choices and respond to companies’ need for capital. This is to be in accordance with the SET’s business expansion strategy”.
DTCPF has invested in key tourist areas across Thailand, under the management of Dusit Thani PCL, which has been in the industry for more than 40 years. DTCPF has invested in Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket, dusitD2 Chiang Mai and Dusit Thani Hua Hin. Investors can see more details from its prospectus at www.sec.or.th.
DTCPF will pay out dividends at least once a year, at no less than 90% of its net profits excluding unrealized gains from the auditing of property appraisals or leases during the related accounting period.
“Currently, 29 property funds are listed on the SET, with average dividend yield in 2010 of 6.41% as of December 31, 2010. DTCPF is therefore another alternative for investors”, said Mr. Chanitr.
DTCPF’s principal shareholders are Dusit Thani PCL, the Social Security Office, and Krungthai-AXA Life Insurance Co., Ltd., which hold 30%, 18.47% and 5.37% of total investment units, respectively.
