The SII (Securities & Investment Institute) is playing a key role in supporting a new financial training centre in Shanghai.
The SII has been appointed financial qualifications provider to Oracle Bay, which will work with universities, firms and training providers to upgrade the skills of local financial professionals.
To launch the partnership, students on a postgraduate programme at Oracle Bay will undertake the Institute’s innovative IntegrityMatters elearning course, testing their ability to make ethical decisions when faced with six tricky scenarios in the workplace.
SII chief executive Simon Culhane FSI said: “The Oracle Bay programme is an excellent initiative that will help Shanghai increase its skill base of talented and professional leaders for the finance sector. The Institute is delighted to be part of the project and we wish it every success.”
The centre, financed by a government grant, is bolstering Shanghai’s efforts to become recognised as a global financial hub. The first phase of Oracle Bay, situated in the financial district of Lujiazui, covers 9,600 square metres and includes classrooms to train 400 people at a time. There is also accommodation for more than 200 people.
