Once per year an indicative selection is published for the annual review of the AEX-index® (AEX-index), the Amsterdam Midkap-index® (AMX-index) and the Amsterdam Small cap-Index® (AScX-index).
The indicative selection is based on regulated share turnover up to and including October 2009. We have also applied the new definition to determine free float and a new banding system (rounding to 5% increments instead of 25% increments).
NYSE Euronext wishes to emphasize that the indicative selection is an indication only. The definitive selection will be based on regulated turnover for the full calendar year (up to 31 December 2009). It will be announced at the end of January 2010 and will take effect on the second trading day of March 2010. The definitive selection is also subject to final decision-making by the AEX-Steering Committee at that moment.
Based on the current data, the indicative selection is as follows:
AEX-index: no changes
AMX-index: no changes
AScX-index: Hunter Douglas may be removed from the index. Gamma
Holding, Fornix BioSciences and AND Publishers are possible candidates for
inclusion in the index.
The indicative composition of the AEX-index, the AMX-index and the AScX-index, including indicative weightings of their constituents, are shown in the appendix. The weightings of the indices’ constituents are based on closing prices of Wednesday 18 November 2009.
