MSCI Inc. (NYSE: MXB), a leading provider of investment decision support tools worldwide, announced today, following discussions with market participants, that it will be implementing the changes resulting from the May 2010 Semi-Annual Index Review as of the close of May 26, 2010 (effective May 27, 2010) instead of May 31, 2010 for certain indices.
This change will affect all MSCI Equity Indices that have Index Reviews scheduled for Monday May 31, 2010. These include, but are not limited to, the MSCI Global Standard and MSCI Global Small Cap Indices as well as the MSCI Global Value and Growth Indices, the MSCI Pan-Euro and MSCI Euro Indices, the MSCI US Equity Indices and the MSCI China A Indices.
For the MSCI Global Currency Indices, the MSCI Hedged Indices, the MSCI FX Hedge Indices and the MSC
I Factor Indices the Index Review will be implemented based on the regular schedule.Additionally, MSCI confirms that it will change the implementation date for Index Reviews if markets cumulatively constituting more than 20% of the MSCI All Country World Index market capitalization are expected to be either closed or experience low liquidity on that day.
Furthermore, starting from the November 2009 Semi-Annually Index Review, MSCI will announce at each regular Index Review the announcement and the implementation dates of the four subsequent regular Index Reviews.
