Beta-Gamma Research Ltd., a leading developer and innovator of sophisticated trading algorithms and automated trading solutions, today announced the appointment of Mark Worrall as non executive director in charge of growth and long-term strategic direction. For several years Worrall has held a number of senior positions in risk management and consulting.
Worrall’s City career began with Reuters in 1990 where his focus was on sales and management. In 1997 he joined Algorithmics as regional director specialising in enterprise-wide risk management and in 2000 Worrall launched his financial IT applications specialist consultancy company, Expand Research, offering consultancy to the wholesale investment banking sector. He subsequently sold Expand in April 2004 to become managing director of the Route City Wealth Club, a wealth management company primarily comprised of financial market professionals. He is currently founder and principal of Propel Capital Partners LLP, while retaining his position as director and shareholder at Route.
Worrall was instrumental in helping Beta-Gamma raise finance, primarily with seasoned FX market practitioners. Howard Tolman, CEO of Beta-Gamma, says, “We are enormously pleased to have Mark join us, as his experience, contacts and insight will help us drive our business forward and achieve the reputation and sales our technology so richly deserves. He played a vital role in helping us launch the company and I am looking forward to working with him as the company grows.”
Worrall comments, “Algorithmic trading is clearly a growth sector and Beta-Gamma have a range of highly innovative products. I am delighted to be working with them as the company goes from strength to strength. They have an excellent team; it is a pleasure to be a part of it and to bring my skills to bear on behalf of Beta-Gamma.”
