Kansas City Board of Trade trading volume for the month of April totaled 315,866 contracts, an increase of 9.7 percent when compared to last month. The hard red winter wheat futures contract volume fueled the increase, with 306,484 contracts traded, exceeding last month’s volume by 9.3 percent.
Wheat options volume also enjoyed a volume increase in the past month. A total of 9,382 contracts were traded, an increase of 25.1 percent compared to March 2009 volume.
