Imarex ASA has in an Extraordinary General Meeting today, 16 October 2009, elected Mr. David Shuler of CME Group Inc. as a new member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Shuler replaces Mr. Neal B. Brady, also of CME Group Inc.
Mr. Shuler is Managing Director, Alliance and Venture Management of CME Group Inc. CMEG NYMEX Holdings Inc., a company owned by CME Group Inc., is Imarex ASA's largest shareholder.
Mr. Shuler was appointed Managing Director, Alliance and Venture Management of CME Group Inc. in July 2009. He is responsible for directing CME Group's investments in new business and strategic partnerships, including joint alliances and other growth initiatives.
Before joining CME Group, Mr. Shuler served as Senior Vice President, Exchange Solutions for NYSE Technologies, where he headed NYSE Euronext's exchange technology business. He also served as Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff for NYSE during the company's transition to a public company, as well as for NYSE Euronext.
Mr. Shuler previously held leadership roles at Goldman Sachs & Co. in New York and Japan, and he spent over a decade as a diplomat in the U.S. State Department.
Mr. Schuler received a bachelor's degree in government from Dartmouth College.
