Eurosif announced today that Matt Christensen, Executive Director since 2002, has resigned from the organisation effective 1st April 2011, by mutual agreement with the Board of Directors, in order to pursue a new opportunity as Global Head of Responsible Investment at AXA Investment Managers.
Giuseppe van der Helm, Eurosif’s President, states:
“2011 marks the 10-year anniversary of Eurosif’s founding with the aim to develop a European voice for sustainable and responsible investment (SRI). Matt has led Eurosif from practically the beginning and, during his tenure, the organisation has grown to over 85 supporting Member Affiliates and there are now 11 national Sustainable Investment Forums (SIFs) across Europe. Matt’s drive, commitment and strategic thinking has helped make Eurosif widely recognised today for its strong European public policy programme, leading research on ESG trends, and sophisticated communications platform. I am sure I speak for the entire Board when I thank Matt wholeheartedly for his efforts and wish him continued success in the future”.
Eurosif has developed a transition plan that will enable the organisation to continue delivering high-quality services to its Member Affiliates while successfully implementing the 2011 programme after Mr. Christensen’s departure. The Eurosif Board is working with a specialist recruitment agency to appoint the next Executive Director.
Mr. Van der Helm, with support from the Eurosif Executive Committee, will assume operational responsibilities in the interim period.
Said Mr. Christensen,
“I have been proud to lead Eurosif and would like to thank the many Member Affiliates and other stakeholders who have supported the association over the years. We have built a strong brand and assembled a dedicated team to lead the organisation into its second decade. I look forward to seeing Eurosif’s continued development as the leading forum representing the interests of the European SRI community”.
