Trading volume at the DCE in February reached a total of 32,992,956 contracts, which was a decrease of 16.68% compared to the same month last year and a decrease of 51.53% compared to last month. Trading turnover in February reached CNY 1.5937 trillion, which was an increase of 3.69% over the same month last year and a decrease of 56.11% compared to last month. The DCE's trading volume and turnover accounted for 22.89% and 15.12% of the national total respectively. Total trading volume for the first two months of the year amounted to 101,065,284 contracts and trading turnover amounted to CNY 5.2248 trillion, which were increases of 39.99% and 89.43% respectively over the same period last year. Open interest at the end of the month was 2,986,886 contracts, a decrease of 11.56% compared to last month.
The latest statistics from the China Futures Industry Association show that total nationwide trading volume for the first two months of this year amounted to 380,664,880 contracts and trading turnover reached CNY 27.6827 trillion, which were increases of 120.34% and 166.52% respectively over the same period last year. Due to the effect of Chinese New Year, the scale of trading nationwide in February decreased compared to last month with only 144,129,748 contracts traded worth CNY 10.5390 trillion. Trading volume in February increased by 13.12% over the same month last year but decreased by 39.07% compared to last month, while trading turnover increased by 71.06% over the same month last year but decreased by 38.52% compared to last month.
