On Wednesday, April 28th, BM&FBOVESPA – the Brazilian Securities, Commodities and Futures Exchange set yet another historic record with 107,466 trades in its derivatives segment passing the previous record of 103,885, which was set just one day earlier on April 27th. During Wednesday’s trading session 5,033,019 contracts were traded with a total financial volume of BRL406.59 billion.
Also on April 28th, the Exchange reached the historic mark of 164,236 trades via Direct Market Access (DMA) in the derivatives segment. This too was accomplished by surpassing the record of 155,637 trades that was set on the previous day.
The number of contracts 199,385 and the number of trades 61,501 carried out via co-location were also new record highs on April 28th, surpassing the previous records of 187,864 contracts and 51,841 trades set on April 27th.
