BATS Global Markets today announced the promotion of Troy Yeazel to vice president of operations and Jeff Connell to vice president of market oversight.
Mr. Yeazel and Mr. Connell, both based at BATS’ global headquarters in the Kansas City, Mo., area, have played important roles in the growth of BATS, which operates two U.S. equity exchanges – BATS BZX Exchange and BATS BYX Exchange; BATS Options, a U.S. equity options market; and BATS Europe, a multilateral trading facility in Europe.

In his role of vice president of operations, Mr. Yeazel oversees day-to-day operations for BATS’ U.S. equity and options exchanges. He was previously director of operations and joined BATS in 2008.
Before joining BATS, Mr. Yeazel was IT service delivery director at Sourcecorp where he was tasked with development and management of a new service delivery organization composed of Service Delivery Managers and IT Compliance Officers serving both national and international interests. Mr. Yeazel also worked in various IT roles at Sprint, Raviant Networks, Integrated Network Solutions and Iowa State University. Mr. Yeazel received a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Iowa State University.
As vice president of market oversight, Mr. Connell is responsible for overseeing surveillance programs for BATS’ U.S. market centers, helping to ensure that members comply with rules and regulations. He was previously head of market surveillance and joined BATS in 2008.
Before joining BATS, Mr. Connell was associate principal examiner at FINRA, Inc., where he conducted regulatory examinations to ensure financial integrity, the adequacy of internal controls, and sales practice compliance at FINRA member firms. Mr. Connell received a bachelor’s degree in finance and management information systems from Kansas State University and an MBA from Baker University.
