United States, Switzerland Sign Agreement To Bolster Tax Information Exchange
As part of the Obama Administration's aggressive efforts to enforce U.S. tax laws and reduce offshore tax evasion, the U.S. Department of the Treasury today announced that Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and Swiss Ambassador to the United States Urs Ziswiler signed a protocol updating the current income tax treaty between the United States and Switzerland to allow for greater tax information exchange.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today that U.S. District Court Judge George Daniels of the Southern District of New York entered four separate orders against Vito Napoletano of Staten Island, N.Y., Boris Shuster of Brooklyn, N.Y., Patrick Sweeney of Freehold, N.J., and Joseph Torre of Old Bridge, N.J. The orders stem from the cooperative law enforcement investigation code-named “Operation Wooden Nickel,” an undercover law enforcement

NYSE Euronext’s U.S. Options Penny Pilot Expansion Filing Adopted By The SEC - Adds 300 More Issues For A Total Of 363 Options Issues Trading In Pennies - Represents Approximately 85% Of The Volume In U.S. Options
NYSE Euronext (NYX) today announced that its proposal for the expansion of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC ) Penny Pilot program, filed by NYSE Arca options, has been approved for market-wide implementation by the SEC . The approval will extend the proposed pilot through December 31, 2010, including four quarterly additions to the pilot consisting of 75 issues each.
