Speech By SEC Commissioner Luis A. Aguilar: Improving Executive Compensation Decision Making
The reform effort arising from the financial crisis highlighted numerous concerns about executive compensation decisions. These concerns resonated in Congress during the debates. As a result, the Dodd Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act requires the Commission to strengthen the independence of the executive compensation decision making process. Today’s proposal is designed to give life to this idea.

OCC Announces 19% Increase In Cleared Contracts For Record Volume Month In March
OCC announced today that total volume reached 421,466,054 contracts in March, representing a 19 percent increase over the March 2010 volume of 353,294,816 contracts. This marks a new record month and quarter for OCC cleared volume and is the second time total cleared volume surpassed 400 million contracts in one month. OCC ended the first quarter with total volume reaching 1,160,299,965 contracts, up 25 percent from 2010.

CME Group Announces Record Corn Calendar Swap Volume
CME Group, the world’s leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, today announced record volume in Corn Calendar Swaps. On Thursday, Mar. 31, Corn Calendar Swap volume reached a record of 11,710 contracts, surpassing the previous record of 3,331 contracts set on Jan. 12, 2011.

The Options Industry Council Announces Monthly Options Trading Record With Volume Up 19%
The Options Industry Council (OIC) announced today that a new monthly total options trading volume record was set in March with 417,188,575 options contracts changing hands, an 18.86 percent increase compared to March of last year when 351,004,878 contracts changed hands.

OneChicago Reports March Volume, Increase Of 24% Over March 2010 - March Numbers Round Off A Quarter Of Steady Volume Increase
OneChicago, LLC (OCX), an equity finance exchange trading security futures, today reported that 479,402 security futures contracts traded at the exchange in March 2011, an increase of 24% from March 2010 and an increase of 169% over February 2011

MGEX Breaks March Trading Volume Records
MGEX, a Designated Contract Market (DCM) and Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO), today announced a new March trading volume of 155,068, a 34 percent increase over the previous record set in 2007 and a 68 percent increase over the year ago period.
