The Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) held the 4th activity of "Overseas Investors Visit SSE-listed Companies" on September 6 and 7, 2018. Participating in the activity were representatives of nearly 20 overseas asset management companies, sovereign funds and securities dealers from the United States, Hong Kong and Europe. During the survey in 6 listed companies in Shanghai, the overseas investors had an in-depth understanding on the current development and future strategic plans of listed companies of different industries in the Shanghai market, and talked with the representatives of the listed companies on transformation and upgrading of entity industries, technical innovation, optimization of listed companies' governance structure, and other topics concerned by the investors. The activity is highly acknowledged by both overseas investors and listed companies.
The activity is constituted of forum and site visits in various forms and rich contents. At the forum, board chairmen, secretaries to directorate and other senior managers of listed companies made detailed introductions on their corporate business development scales, performances in the first half of this year, industry development situations and internationalization strategy plans, and answered the questions on financial performances, industry competitive advantages and business development focuses in the second half of this year raised by the investors. Besides, site visits were organized for overseas investors to have a direct and full understanding on the corporate development processes, main business lines and innovation capacities of the listed companies, which demonstrated their core strength, innovation capacities and cultural deposits in an all-round way.
The two-way opening-up of the Chinese capital market has been expanded in recent years. With the increasing quota of Shanghai – Hong Kong Stock Connect, the continuous optimization of the QFII/RQFII mechanism and the formal inclusion of A-shares into the MSCI index, overseas investors have paid increasing attention to the A-share market. As a brand activity sponsored by the SSE for serving overseas institutional investors, it is committed to building a bridge between the overseas institutional investors and the listed companies to enhance their mutual understanding. Meanwhile, it will also help to demonstrate the investing value of A-share listed companies to the overseas investors, intensify the management on listed companies' services related to investor relationship, and fuel the governance of A-share listed companies to the world-class level.
